Welcome to the first ever

Test Drive Meme

for Heronhawk Institute of the Mind (and It's Mastery)!

Are you curious about this magical school game? Are you considering throwing your hat into the chaotic maelstrom? Are you looking for just a little taste of what we're about before you roll some dice and take a chance on the game?

Never fear! You're in the right place!

Now, we do have a somewhat unique application and character generation process which makes TDMs slightly difficult, but thankfully, the modern world has given us a solution:

[  Mechanical Schna Here  ]
Click here and generate a character using the buttons (I recommend the first three, generally) and use that as the framework for your character + the fact that they're going to be going to a magical school. Click the button until you get something you like.

Play them with any journal you like just to have a journal to play with. See how it goes and what develops.

If you like the character you got on the generator, feel free to put a link to your TDM thread AND the link from the generator (the one mentioned at the bottom to 'copy this link') in place of the d66 roll requested.

Prompts

Class
Professor Keblex is feeling feisty today, her hair erupting in gouts of flame every five minutes or so and her muttering more pronounced than usual. Hence she's assigned a group project, or maybe a pair project, or maybe she doesn't really care: whoever combines the abilities of their available spells to the greatest destructive potential gets points for the day.

And don't bother her before you have something to show her.

Simple Errantry
Professor Thudhes decided, for reasons that he has not shared with the class, to bring you all to a strange and ancient Selenite shrine, clearly untouched by mortal hands for centuries or more.

The goal, it seems, is within the shadows of the shrine, or so he explains through clouds of dark mist escaping between the plates in his armor. You're not sure, given the swirling nature of mist and how dark it is, whether it's to kill the monster within or to kiss it, but you can hear a strange clicking noise from within and the smooth rasp of something large being dragged across stone.

Well? He's waiting. Go on. Learn something.

A More Complicated Bit of Errantry
Gra-in-the-Green (her name is esteemed title enough that she will not adulterate it with 'professor') has offered students the chance to join her on a particularly mundane and uninteresting delivery mission.

The fact that this errand will be happening on behalf of someone that magical society rumors to be something of a black market artifact slinger is not something that will be shared at the next Family Day but it is extremely important Life Experience and thus not something that she would deny her students.

It is, after all, simply transporting a supposedly mundane text from one location to the other. The fact that one location is at the edge of a known universe and the other is the home of said black market dealer is only one of the fascinating portions of why someone might come. Another is the fact that the planned path passes through the territory of a known vampire pirate cult right after what has been well publicized to be the jamboree around the leader's 500th birthday. And that's not even getting into the fact that the book itself needs to be retrieved from a ghost, one who keeps replaying his own death, and that the professor has placed a bomb on the Golden Barge they'll be using for transportation for 'extra credit'.

...the loot should be excellent, however.

Wildcard
Not sure you want to do the app but want to give this place a spin? Set up something of your own! Do something with a House, the Grounds or the Professors! Want to but feel a little lost? Check out the FAQ or leave a quesstion and I'll get back to you ASAP.

Have fun!
